¡Week 4! Chapter 12-15

In this week I have to analyze the plot of the book, hence, the plot is a literary element who describes the main part of the story.

According to Brave New World, I establish that its plot is not a single idea, but, a group of many sections or subtopics.

  1. The concept of utopia and dystopia:  These concepts are badly understood or badly executed, the World Controllers have a wrong idea of what is perfect and they didn't understand that is impossible to have a perfect society. There will be always some disagreement, in regards to ideologies or desitions.
  2. How people entertain themselves and make fun of what's different: I think the author by expressing this idea, implicitly, is making a critic of the society.
  3. The use of technology: Maybe Huxley wants to critic also the technology, as in the book these tools are the most important thing in the World State, they depend on the technology, the technology controls everything, from natural processes, like the pregnancy, to emotions and feelings. With the apparition of Ford, we can think that his characters can be a hero or a devil because he initialized the consumerism in the United States.
These subtopics all make part of the huge topic of society and relationships, it is all connected, and we could say, the book critics actual society and shows a possible leap into the future of humanity, which can be a premonition or a warning, maybe if we keep on living the way we do, the society and the world can get to be a horror.
